A Beginners Guide to Vaping
Where do I start
Many smokers are now turning to Vape, and at this moment in time vaping has never been so popular.
With all the public health campaigns backing the use of vape, and the ever increasing costs of smoking cigarettes, it’s little wonder that so many smokers are making the switch. If you are one of those who feels the need to move away from smoking tobacco, then this guide can help you get started.
Vaping is not as complicated as you might think. And with the huge amount of flavour choices available, you might wonder why you didn’t give it a try sooner. Don’t worry if it all seems a bit daunting at first, we will break it down to the essentials, and when you are ready, you can move forward.
First: Choose an E Cigarette
There are many, many different e cigs available to you, so to make things as simple as possible, we suggest you purchase a simple STARTER KIT. These can be found anywhere online or in store. Starter kits will provide you with all the basic bits that you need to get started.
Starter kits will provide a basic e cigarette, battery and charger and an empty refill bottle. All in a handy case. The kit will provide all the instructions. Most kits do not provide e liquid, so that is all you need to shop for.
After using your starter kit for a while, you will quickly realize how simple the whole process is, and you may feel it is time to move on to a more substantial device.
Second: Choose an e liquid
One of the attractions of e liquids is they are inexpensive compared to cigarettes, and offer a great many flavours to choose from. There are different types to consider and, of course, plenty of flavours, so there are a couple of things that you need to understand.
What are e liquids
E liquids are manufactured from two main base liquids, PG ( Propylene Glycol ) and VG ( Vegetable Glycerine )
PG is a an odourless and tasteless liquid, which makes it the perfect base to add flavours to. PG is what gives e liquid the taste, otherwise known as the “throat hit”.
Using cheaper e liquids may result in an unpleasant gritty feeling in the throat. Hangsen e liquids are premium vapes and only use quality liquids and flavours which eliminates any grittiness.
VG is a much thicker liquid which provides the vapour or the cloud.
The most common ratio for vapers is 70/30. 70% PG and 30% VG.
We recommend using this ratio when starting on you vaping Journey
Nicotine in E Liquid
The beauty of using E Liquids over cigarettes, is that you have total control over how much nicotine you inhale.
Nicotine strengths come in milligrams ranging from 0mg which is nicotine free, to 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg. We would suggest, if you are light smoker and changing to e cigs, you start at 6mg. You can adjust this level up or down, whichever suits.
If you feel the need to increase the strength of your e liquid, do it gradually, a quick jump can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, and in severe cases, vomiting.
Choosing An E Liquid Flavour
The million dollar question. If you are moving away from smoking, there are generally two trains of thought. Either stay with cigarette flavours, or move away all together and opt for a non tobacco flavour.
You really are spoilt for choice. Traditional tobacco flavours mimic some of the most popular cigarettes. For instance Hangsen Gold&silver (B & H Gold pack ) Virginia, Silk smooth etc, etc.
And then there are the non tobacco flavours, too numerous to list. This is purely down to users choice, but some of the more popular ones are Blueberry, Blackcurrant, Strawberry, Cola, coffee etc etc.
We offer 5ml sample bottles as an inexpensive way of trying out new flavours.
So, you have decided to move away from smoking and try vaping.
Here is what to do next.
Buy yourself an inexpensive starter kit.
Choose your e liquid flavour, Tobacco or non tobacco.
